11 Strand Plait

Method
  1. Start off with the 5 strand plait -
  1. Section five pieces of hair ready to begin the plait.
  2. The most important thing is to make sure one hand always has three strands in and one hand always has two.  They will alternate because you will be plaiting across.
  3. Start with three strands in your right hand, take the furthest one and use the method, over, under, stop.
  4. You will now have three pieces of hair in your left hand.  Repeat the process again.
  5. Use a hair band to secure the plait into place

Next you need to do a 3 strand plait to the right of the 5 strand plait.  However before bringing the left section into the 3 strand plait, loop it through the top hole in the 5 strand plait.  Each time you plait, make sure the section nearest the 5 strand goes through a hole, this will join the plait together.
Then do this to the other side of the 5 strand plait and there is the 11 strand.

Weave Plait

Method

This is similar to the 5 strand plait but you just add more hair each time.

  1. Start off with the 5 strands and plait across twice.
  2. On the 3rd time add a 6th piece of hair in using the same method, under, over stop.  However, as there is an extra piece of hair there will be more unders and overs.
  3. Keep going with the plait adding more hair from alternate sides each time.
  4. Finish off the plait by weaving the hair in your hands instead of adding more hair, tie off with a hair band.
