Volume up do

Products

  • Back combing brush
  • Hair pins
  • Bun Pins
  • Tail comb
  • Hairspray
Method

  1. Firstly brush the hair out throughly to get rid of any knots.  Then using the tail comb section off a large bit of hair at the front of the head.
  2. With the other section at the back, brush it to one side and use some pins in a criss cross style down the middle of the hair.
  3. As all the hair is on one side, back comb it slightly to give some volume.  This will also help the hair curl round nicely to create the french pleat.
  4. Roll this section around your hands and secure into place with pins that will slid into the criss cross.
  5. Next you need to back comb the top section to give it some volume.  Do this in small sections using the backcombing brush and be sure to start at the root so it's easy to brush out.
  6. Once the section is backcombed, arrange it nicely over the french pleat.  I twisted mine into a pretty swirl and pinned it into place.
  7. Lastly, finish with the comb and some hairspray to tame the fly away hairs at the front.
