- Hair brush
- Hair band
- Hair pins
- Hair Spray
- Tail Comb
Wiggle Plait
- After brushing the hair thoroughly take a medium section of hair and begin to plait normally.
- Once you have plaited to the end of the hair, push the 2 pieces of hair up whilst holding the other piece.
- This will create a wiggle effect, use a pin to pin in place.
Waterfall Plait
- After brushing the hair, create a clean section horizontally by the ear using a tail comb.
- Begin to plait normally, once you have plaited twice, drop the single piece of hair.
- Take a new section of hair from behind to create a new third strand of hair.
- Plait twice again and repeat.
Ladder Plait
- Keeping the Waterfall plait in, take a clean section of hair underneath it.
- This time, split the hair into two sections and use the 'fall out' pieces from the Waterfall plait for your third strand.
- Again, once you plait twice, you will drop the single piece of hair and pick up a new piece from the Waterfall plait.
- You can then pin into place and finish with hairspray.
Slip Tie Knot
- Brush the hair thoroughly and use your tail comb create a middle parting.
- Take a section from temple to temple and split into two pieces, one for each side.
- Tie these two pieces together in a single knot, ask your model to hold these sections in between her fingers.
- Repeat the knotting process again and ask your model to hold the sections.
- Take the next section of hair ready to knot, but take the first two sections of hair into the pieces you have already. Then knot again.
- Keep going with this process, making sure you take the older sections into the new knot as you go until there is no hair left.
5 Strand Plait
- Section five pieces of hair ready to begin the plait.
- The most important thing is to make sure one hand always has three strands in and one hand always has two. They will alternate because you will be plaiting across.
- Start with three strands in your right hand, take the furthest one and use the method, over, under, stop.
- You will now have three pieces of hair in your left hand. Repeat the process again.
- Use a hair band to secure the plait into place.
